Un physicien rentre dans sa region natale d'Allgau pour une reunion d'anciens eleves. Pendant son sejour, sa mere meurt brusquement et il a, peu apres, une vision. Il comprend que la legendaire Atlantide n'a pas ete engloutie. Elle se trouverait en Himalaya. Accompagne d'une jeune etudiante, il part pour le Tibet .....
